From...2001? "What are you looking at?" This piece happened when a patron in San Francisco gave me a bunch of her old jewelry components. They were all patina treated brass and the colors were great, so I thought I'd blend some clay into a matching color. The shape of the stamping made me think of a tile or a stone in a cathedral... so, naturally, that's where you'd find a gargoyle. photography by the great Hap Sakwa
