Deep in the heart of Texas!

Image
Greetings from Pecan St. This will be brief. It's 5 to 1 in the morning. I've been up since 4:30... and that was on 2 1/2 hours of sleep to begin with... the fair was great today. Good quality work, decent weather, wonderful crowds. Everything seemed to be sponsored by Budweiser. Except my friend,  Phil, here. Thanks to everyone who responded  to the e-mails and all of you out there reading this blog. The experiment is working! I was going to do a post about a work in progress... "the Bat-Mobile"... that I wanted to get done for today... that piece didn't happen... too many knots, too little sleep... (sold the bats, anyway!)... Then I heard a hit and run accident out in the dark somewhere... Brakes - bam!- squeak? shriek? something... then hit the gas and scram! I really hate that. I ran out the door with my cell... and realized I couldn't place where the crash happened. So I called 911, gave them a general area to search in and wanted to leave it at that. ...

CHICKEN FRIED STEAK ON A STICK!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week. Had a decent weekend in Georgetown and now I'm getting ready for a better one at the Pecan Street Festival in the heart of Austin. I brought this guy down... "Have you met the new intern?". This is how I usually look when I'm down here. so much to see. The weather's beautiful and I'm having a blast. First night here, Lindsey took me to see a performance hoedown. "200 Two-.Steppers on the Texas Capitol Steps". So cool. I even got a dance lesson.  Tonight we went to a fashion show in the Earl Center at the UT. I know why all the celebutards love going to those things now. Really Fun. But not as fun as this... That's my friend Carolyn eating CHICKEN FRIED STEAK ON A STICK! I just love Texas! More tomorrow!
