Deep in the heart of Texas!

Greetings from Pecan St.
This will be brief. It's 5 to 1 in the morning. I've been up since 4:30... and that was on 2 1/2 hours of sleep to begin with... the fair was great today. Good quality work, decent weather, wonderful crowds. Everything seemed to be sponsored by Budweiser. Except my friend,  Phil, here. Thanks to everyone who responded  to the e-mails and all of you out there reading this blog. The experiment is working!

I was going to do a post about a work in progress... "the Bat-Mobile"... that I wanted to get done for today... that piece didn't happen... too many knots, too little sleep... (sold the bats, anyway!)... Then I heard a hit and run accident out in the dark somewhere... Brakes - bam!- squeak? shriek? something... then hit the gas and scram! I really hate that. I ran out the door with my cell... and realized I couldn't place where the crash happened. So I called 911, gave them a general area to search in and wanted to leave it at that. But having just walked two darling doggies in the dark of the night, I couldn't help think that maybe somebody's pal was laying out on the side of the street somewhere. So I trotted off down the block, looking for... something... hoping for nothing... but.

I knew it happened. But where?

I found nothing down by the school (that's where i thought the sound came from,  due south). But when i got back to the house, i saw two banks of flashing lights to the southeast, two blocks down.Turns out some knucklehead plowed into the left front corner of a mom's parked jeep... and took off. She was in the back of the house taking care of the baby and didn't hear a thing.

At least no one got hurt.

Must sleep now. Thanks, everyone, for the great day.

  1. It is good to know that Phil is not sponsored by Budweiser. ;)
